Tonight Rep. Byron Donalds from Florida announced his endorsement of former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential race. I don’t think DeSantis is running, at least I hope he isn’t—Florida needs DeSantis. Donalds and DeSantis are very close allies, for Donalds to endorse Trump says a lot.
Donalds stated that Trump is the only leader who can provide the strength and resolve necessary to get America back on track and make it great again. Two other Florida congressional representatives, Reps. Matt Gaetz and Anna Paulina Luna, have also endorsed Trump’s candidacy for 2024.
A recent survey conducted among Republican primary voters asked them to choose from a list of 15 announced and potential candidates for the 2024 nomination. The results showed that Trump’s lead has doubled since February and he is now ahead of DeSantis by 30 points (54%-24%).
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden’s standing among Democratic primary voters remains uncertain. The Democrats don’t have any candidates that Americans really want; the left will settle for Biden, but they would rather another candidate.
