Sen. Tim Scott is officially running for president. He filed paperwork Friday to enter the 2024 race. Scott took action following the revelation that his campaign had spent over $5 million on advertisements in the initial two primary states.

Senator Scott from South Carolina, a “die hard” Republican, will vie for the Republican nomination against former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and other declared candidates such as former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson.
Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida is anticipated to commence his own campaign in the coming week. Both DeSantis and Scott have made visits to Iowa and New Hampshire, which are states with early primary elections.
At the age of 57, Scott will enter the GOP primary race with a staggering $22 million in available funds, the highest amount ever recorded for a presidential candidate, as stated by the Federal Election Commission.
Last month, Scott released a video announcement wherein he stated that the nation is currently experiencing divisions reminiscent of those witnessed during the Civil War. He criticized President Joe Biden and the liberal left for prioritizing a culture of grievances over striving for greatness, and he emphasized the need for Americans to adopt a mindset of hope rather than victimhood.
According to a poll conducted by Winthrop University in April, only 7% of South Carolina Republicans support Scott’s bid for presidency. The poll indicated that Trump is leading the pack with 41% support, followed by DeSantis at 20%, and Haley at 18%.
