The Super Bowl of Two Strong Christian Quarterbacks

Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chief Quarterback Patrick Mahomes are well known for thanking God for their success. Which means no matter what team wins, a strong Christian quarterback will take home the coveted Vince Lombardi trophy for Super Bowl LVII.

In an interview with CBS Sports, Jalen Hurts said, “I’ve just matured and realized that God is everything and He’s worthy of praise. You have to put Him at the center of everything that you do. That’s what I believe. All my spiritual wisdom — all of my wisdom as a whole — comes from Him, in some way, shape, or form, whether that be passed down from my father, my mother, my grandmother. I just think, in all the things that we experience in life — good, bad or indifferent — you have to keep Him in the center.”

Kansas City Chief Quarterback Patrick Mahomes praised God in a recent interview with Kansas City’s KMBC. Mahomes told reporters, “My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do. I mean, I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His name. So it has a role in everything that I do, and obviously it will be on a huge stage at the Super Bowl that He’s given me and I want to make sure I’m glorifying Him while I do it.”

Super Bowl LVII is sure to be extremely competitive; the Chiefs and Eagles are evenly matched. Both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles share an identical 14-3 record. However, Mahomes has led his team to Super Bowl victory before; while this will be Hurts’ first time throwing for the prospect of Super Bowl Champion.
